ESA BREAK THE RECORD: LIVE

Top speedrunning event European Speedrunner Assembly is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new concept in live speedrunning, in association with Twitch.TV and Elgato Gaming. ESA BREAK THE RECORD – LIVE will for one weekend invite the seven top Super Mario 64 speedrunners to their speedrunning boutique in Växjö, Sweden and give them free reign to attempt to beat the Super Mario 64 record.

The runners will be Cheese (Spain), Puncayshun (USA), LiamKings (USA), Paracusia (Australia), Dwhatever (Germany), Taggo (Sweden) and Simply (USA)

In support of the event, ELGATO GAMING are offering a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000. The runner of the best time set at the event will take home $3000, second $1000 and third/fourth $500. In addition to this guaranteed prize pool, they are offering a further $5,000 grand prize, meaning that if the world record is broken at the event the runner will take home a cool $8,000 plus any other bounty that may be available. No matter what, the winner will also take home an Elgato “upgrade bundle” of an HD60 Pro, Green Screen, Stream Deck and Key Light.

ESA BREAK THE RECORD – LIVE will run for up to 14 hours each day, with an enforced rest and recuperation break overnight. During this time the speedrunners will have unlimited access to a personal streaming station. In addition, we will have a rotation of runners and dedicated casters on the couch for round the clock commentary and entertainment.
